DESCRIPTION:Soft Skills for a Hard World: Legal Edition \n1.0 Ethics \nPresenters: \nDenise Blommel\, Attorney \nDon Doerres\, Retired Engineer \nEthical Rule 1.1 requires lawyers to provide competent representation to a client\, involving\, inter alia\, skill and preparation.  Comment 5 to the Rule states that competent handling of a matter includes inquiry into the facts and adequate preparation and attention. Communication is the primary skill attorneys need to prepare and attend to their clients. \nEthical Rules 5.1 and 5.3 require managing lawyers to properly supervise their staff.  Communication is the primary skill supervisors need on a daily basis. \nOur focus will be on the specific art and practice of Listening.  We also will present the Seven Steps to Solution\, which are valuable in dealing with clients\, adversaries\, decisionmakers\, friends\, family\, and life. \n  \nNEW LUNCH LOCATION:  \nThe new location and directions to the Aztec Conference Room: \n9375 E.
