Embedding Client Confidentiality Into the Legal Workplace

Lynda and Denise will expand upon “The Lawyer as Employer” by sharing ethical and employment responsibilities you have with your staff to:

Train attorneys and staff about:
- The definition of Firm confidential information;
- The expanse of Client confidential information;
- The difference between their ethical duty of “confidentiality” and what little the “attorney/client privilege” protects;
- Their rights under federal and state labor laws concerning sharing information.
Implement protocols (e.g. employee handbooks, confidentiality agreements) for confidentiality to be assured in:
- Remote work;
- Technology and data;
- Dealing with the public, clients, and each other.
Understand liability of the Firm in situations where:
- Client confidentiality is breached;
- Staff discipline is imposed for breach;
